It appears to. In a published study, patients had radiofrequency first on one side of the face and ultrasound first on the other. The radiofrequency stage cools the surface of your skin continuously while it works, which is why it tends to feel warm rather than sharp. The ultrasound stage is felt more deeply and only briefly. Tell your practitioner if anything feels uncomfortable, because the settings can be adjusted.

It is generally suited to adults who have started to notice softening along the jawline, looser skin on the neck, or a less defined facial contour, and who want to address it without surgery. A facelift is surgery. It physically repositions tissue, requires anaesthetic and recovery, and produces a bigger change. Volformer is non surgical. Both technologies have been used in aesthetic medicine for years and are well studied. In the published study of the combination, side effects were minimal.
